Project Life 2012 Week Fifteen
I am getting concerned that my Project Life album isn't going to hold any more pages pretty soon. It's already starting to burst at the seams. I'm considering getting another binder and splitting the year in half, though I'm not sure if I can get 2 more months in the album I have now. I only have 2 pages in Week Fifteen but I like how they came together even if the layouts are simple. I didn't use a lot of embellishments this week. The bird embellishments are from Recollections Love Birds from Michael's.
I made an effort to take a few photos with the DSLR this week, but most of them came from Instagram. I'm warming up to Instagram in print but I'm not completely sold yet, which is unfortunate because I absolutely love the pics as I take them. It takes some additional steps, for me, to make them work in a way I want.
I hit 100,000 miles this week, and pulled over on the side of the Interstate to commemorate the moment. The orange background is Bohemian Bliss Paper. The font is Joy Like Sunshine Through My Windowpane.
I'm never sure what color scheme or which cards or kit I will work with each week. I tend to let the photographs designate the theme. I was drawn to oranges and pinks this week. The card stock behind the Week Fifteen pic is from Michael's and is called Retro Collage. I chose Recollections Black Rhinestone Adhesive strips to affix the photo to the cardstock. Using the Tiny Attacher, I stapled a plain journaling card from the Clementine kit so I could write directly on it. I tucked part of the card behind the photo and I really like how it turned out. I used an Original Edition Digital PL journal card again and a journaling card from the Turquoise edition to record some things of right now (Inspired by Becky Higgins I Statements Challenge). I like the juxtaposition of the printed card and my own handwriting. I also appreciate the opportunity to record these kinds of things like what I'm thinking, what I'm watching, what little details make up my life at this very moment.
I am incredibly excited that Becky Higgins is releasing new page protectors this summer made to hold Instagram photos. I found these Martha Stewart ones that fit the photos pretty well, though I trimmed the photos down a little. I also included a comment from one of M's customers at Best Buy who had some really great things to say about their experience buying a camera. The labels on the photos are my go-to Smash! labels. The 10 things pocket is a Little Yellow Bicycle/Deja Views journaling pocket.
Week Fifteen felt very typical for me and I really like the kind of everydayness that is represented. I've been considering participating in Ali Edwards' Week in the Life next week but I'm not sure if I can be really commited to it. I'm thinking about it.
