reverb10: 2 photos for my 2 best sides
December 25 – Photo – a present to yourself
Sift through all the photos of you from the past year. Choose one that best captures you; either who you are, or who you strive to be. Find the shot of you that is worth a thousand words. Share the image, who shot it, where, and what it best reveals about you. (Author: Tracey Clark)
I am torn between two pictures and because I'm a rebel, I'm posting them both.
This pic was taken by Michelle one night while we were getting gas before leaving Bloomington for Champaign. Her mom had cut my hair that weekend and it was kinda sticking up everywhere so I turned it into a faux-hawk. It captures me because it shows me with no makeup on, smiling and happy and very much in the moment.
I took this picture using the camera on my MacBook Pro at work. It's what the haircut looked like when it wasn't rebelling against me. This is the professional me, the one I'm trying to embrace and live up to without losing the enthusiasm and life force present in the faux-hawk pic.
These are my two identities and a tension I'm often caught between.
