I finally made reservations for Computers and Writing, which makes it more real that I'm actually going. I was batting around ideas for my presentation with my peeps and they pointed out some things they found fascinating that I hadn't even thought of: the fact my students are reading and/or commenting on one another's blogs but since they're using pseudonyms they're interacting with one another on a very strange level. They talk to one another in class; they see one another; they know each other's names. Yet when they go to the blogs, they very possibly do not know whose blog they're on. They comment using their own pseudonyms. What kind of collaborative environment does this produce? How is it different from the collaboration they experience when working on their projects and presentations face to face?

Does it make the writing they do on the blog (which is all the writing they produce) feel different from the forms of writing they do in other classes?
